We’re having trouble finding black Decora outlets and cover plates. Need 4 GFCI’s and one regular for a particular place where they’re against black Avonite. Electric supply house says it’s a special order and only in case lots at that. Email to Lutron not yet answered. Electrician says I can lightly sand the white ones and paint them, but it’s not the same as getting the black ones properly. Brown would clash. White/ivory sticks out like a sore thumb. Ideas? Top-secret sources? Thanks.

Another supply house may be able to get the exact quantity you want. There are also many mail-order sources, but I have not yet used any myself. Try http://www.laner.com/
What the heck, I have DSL, so I checked myself: $8.45 per black Leviton GFCI with wallplate, $1.61 per black duplex receptacle, both 15-amp, not bad. Laner has the other stuff you need, too. Get spares. Save some money, if it's convenient, and use a solitary GFCI to protect ordinary receptacles downstream on a given branch.
Tidbit: Leviton makes "all-white" and "all-ivory" GFCI's with same-color test buttons -- nice. I can never remember which is which anyway.

Thank you, Andrew. Wasn't familiar w/ either site before--now I'm a little bit wiser. Mucho gracias.
*Follow-up...Hearty recommendation for Laner. Used their website to order what I needed. Website choked on one of the order screens. Sent email. Got a call today from Mr. Laner himself. Took my order and working to solve the technical problem. Couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I'll happily do business w/ them again. Thanks again, andrew.
