I’m venting a Jenn Air cooktop through an exterior wall, planning to make a straight shot out of the cooktop fan, through the wall, terminating in a vent hood. Since this will be relatively close to the ground, somewhat visible and will be venting greasy air, I’d like to use the best possible vent hood I can to help ensure that it will close nicely when not in use (no critters), open when it should and not rust. I goes on 5″ vent pipe. Anybody know where to get a really good one of these?

Your Jennaire supplier has one, or I should say Jennaire makes a good one. I think the last one I used was 5" per their specs.
