We are looking for help in locating a supplier of “old” style wooden gutter end caps. They will be nailed onto the end of a Craftsman Style barge rafter that has a sharply pointed end cut. The cap will cover (but not nailed to) a 4 inch ogee galv. iron gutter. Is Spruce a good material for this type of moulding detail(we live on the Central Coast of California with lots of southern exposure)?
Thanks!

Try http://www.traditional-building.com; they are a good reference source for old building materials and might have what you are looking for. I would think redwood would be your wood of choice.
