Being a long-time advocate of child labor, I want to put my 10-year old to sanding. However, the dust masks that I have are way too big for him. Does anyone know of a source for dust masks to fit small faces?

Have you check the Lee Valley catlog (or online). I know that they had some other child safety glass and other stuff.
Of course if you can still find the old spring clothes pins they work also.
*Hard shell masks are tough for kids, see if you can find the pleated kind, like the one's from AB Safety. I think Lee Valley sell these in small too; but, let your fingers do the walking through "Hospital Equipment & Supplies" and see what you turn up.
*Andy, just let him wheeze. Subject to the right conditions children stay small. This will result in a consequent savings on groceries in the coming years. It's what is known as a "Win Win Situation." Less spent on groceries, more for tools. Joe H
*My local auto-body supply store stocks dust masks in sizes (but you have to ask). Gemplers.com also sells several types of disposable particulate masks in sizes, but you may have to buy (and pay shipping) on more than you need.
*Thanks for the contacts. I'm not worried about having to buy a bunch of them, I'll just tell my son that he can't stop sanding until he's worn out a gross of dust masks.Andy
*Small masks that fit wonderfully, have an exhale valve, with comfortable elastic instead of gimpy rubber straps, made by Moldex, stock # DH1005:TekSupply1-800-835-7877 (24/7)www.TekSupply.comWe also have the "Napoleon" rule in my shop where no one can be taller than i, which necessitates kicking most of them loose when they get into Junior High. This coincides with the development stage where they start to fight back which tends to slow production, so best to get a new crop anyhow.Rule #2: Do not allow them access to a phone.
*The dustfoe 66 (mine saftey appliances) available from highland hardware has a very generous rubbergasket. i imagine it would conform to most face sizes and shapes. great mask.
