I am helping a friend lay some reclaimed pine flooring. The lumber was a hay mow floor that he planed to 3/4. It is all 10-12″ wide and up to 18′ long. We plan to shiplap the edges and toenail it along the edges. He also wants to face nail with square nails for the antique look, and to keep it from cupping. How far apart should we face nail? 32″? 48″?
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced source for square nails? Or for nails for a Bostich floor nailer, too? (I have 1000 sq. ft. of my own oak to lay as well)
Thanks!

From the "About Us' speil.....The Company Store
The Company Store served formerly as our cooper shop. Here we assembled our nail kegs and stored the staves, hoops and heads necessary to produce the finished product. An expert cooper could produce 500 kegs per shift which was a normal daily requirement during busy periods. The Company Store now carries a full range of cut nails, restoration hardware, antiques and craft items. Come and visit us at: Elm Street, Wareham, MA 02571 (just off Cranberry Highway, Rt. No. 28).
