Source for SS hex bolts, nuts, washers?
Deck-rail building time, and I need a couple dozen stainless steel hex bolts about 1/2 x 6 with nuts and washers. The local folks want about a million bucks for them. Any good mail order sources?

There are a number of ways to achieve a level foundation and mudsill.

McFelly's (sp) has them, but I don't know what size.
Jamestown Distributors has them. Then are a good wood boat supply place with lots of stuff that would be interesting to non-boat builders.
I had looked at McFeely's and they don't seem to have them. Hadn't heard of Jamestown but they do have them.... $2.56 each!
What else is a guy to do with ACQ 4x4 posts being bolted to ACQ rim joist? I've heard that the larger diameters (1/2" and up) do not need to be stainless, but I'm suspicious and I think I'm going to err on the side of caution.
Are you saying that $2.56 each is too expensive for you? Sounds cheap to me. I just finished a 1500 square foot deck that took over $3000.00 in stainless fasteners and clips.
Re-read what I said... I'm going to err on the side of caution. Yeah, $2.56 is expensive for a bolt and I've used thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stainless fasteners on jobs in the past year, so I'm well acquainted with the costs. Just lookin' for a good source, that's all.
David,
These guys have lots of supplies.

I'd look at MSC ( http://www.mscdirect.com ) and McMaster-Carr (Google for URL). I used to get a catalog of agricultural building supplies that had lots of SS fasteners, but I don't remember their name.
McMaster-Carr http://www.mcmaster.com has them for $1.92 each. You may be able to get a quantity discount.
Hope this helps. Rich.
That's a truly phenomenal website. I've ordered from their catalog before but never online.
Yup. I noticed that the catalog often gives quantity discount prices, but not necessarily the web site. I would call in the order and try for a discount if buying any quantity.
Hope this helps. Rich.
