I have new construction with a new roof. I had placed a two foot section of 3 inch pipe through the roof for the roofers to place there boots around. I think all was sealed well, at least at first. Perhaps it leaked from teh start?
Then I glued up my vent lines to this stub. ANd now I notice that when it rains water does get between teh pipe and the rubber boot and leak into the unfinished room. The roof is a 10 in 12 pitch which I think does put a fair amount of torque on the boot so as to make it more difficult to fit tight. AM I right? Anyway, what is the best way to seal this leak? Silocone chault around the pipe above the boot????????????????????

i would call the roofers and have them replace the boot. sealing a leak like your suggesting is a short term fix.
