Customer has new vehicle, wider than previous and has already scraped side against garage door.
These are double doors that are limited in swing to just over 90*, therefore project into actual opening about 2″ each side.
Looking for a HEAVY DUTY hinge, similar to the one pictured in the link, that will handle the weight of a very heavy wooden door. Gaining the use of the full opening will earn me very many Brownie points.

I checked Lee Valley's site; thought I'd seen a big-arsed strap hinge with an offset a while ago, but I came up dry.
Sphere's comments about the chicken failed to take into account the potentially corrosive effect of residual barbeque sauce on the strap stock; however, you probably could have them fabricated by your local machine shop or blacksmith. Assuming a 4½"x1½" 5-screw butt plate, how big would you want the offset to be (ie: How thick are the doors)? Do you think he'd need bearings on the pin loops? 'cause if so that would complicate matters....

But it is not this day.
How about "old fashioned" surface-mounted strap hinges? Just set them up with the pivot point a couple of inches away from the door edge. Place shim stock on the door if needed. Will look completely "normal" with a crossbuck door (which can be faked if necessary).

Ever considered continuous hinges? A pair of these might work well.

They have a bolt that goes into or through the door post. Screw type or bolt type. I would use the one that is a bolt, then use large washers, and use nylocks on the inside.
I usually turn the top one upside down, to prevent the door from being raised off the hinges. It also lessens the tendency for the door to sag. But sag can just as easily be dealt with, with a turnbuckle setup.
The hinge itself can be bolted through the door. In the good ones, the strap of the hinge itself doubles back over the first bolt hole.
