Somethin’ here just ain’t right
I ran into this quote in a recent NYT article about “relos”
and I was reminded of “How Buildings Learn”:
>>Tim Bryan builds illusions, designing million-dollar houses
of at least 4,500 square feet. Mr. Bryan said clients “want
it to look like a house that’s evolved over a century, to
appear to have been lived in for 100 years or more, with
the look of having ben added onto.” To achieve the look,
a Bryan house may have a section of brick and next to it one
of stone, then one of cedar shake.

I had heard that authentic looking historic materials were
back in fashion, but I didn’t realize they would take it
this far.
