Is there any concern regarding waterproofing split face block that will be below grade?
Aside from block being more leak prone than a poured wall, is split face block ok below grade when compared to standard block?

Split face is much harder to waterproof because of its rough texture. So if waterproofing is not required, it makes no difference durabilitywise.
