Anyone had any luck successfully spraying Sheetrock’s First Coat Primer? I have a Wagner Airless sprayer that pumps 2/3 GPM with a 517 tip and a 30 filter in the gun. Do I need to thin it out and/or get a bigger tip for the spray gun, maybe a 19 or 21? If I need to thin it out, how much water do I add to a 5 gallon bucket?
Thanks for your help.

If you are set on using it, try it out of the bucket with your setup. If it won't suck and spray, then buy the 521 tip, try again, if no dice, thin it out up to a gal per fiver of water (better yet use Floetrol by Flood - @$12/gal, but it's like latex grease, makes spraying everything better, mix in at 1/2 gal per five).
I have had better luck spending less on a Glidden PVA primer and mixing in a gallon per five of Glidden UltraHide white white. No matter what you do, it's always gonna be at least one primer and two finish for a good coverage job. IMHO, the drywall manufacturers are just selling a heavily pigmented primer and charging a premium for it. Betcha it's made by one of the big paint companies...PS, I like to get one of those Rubbermaid totes, pour 3 or 4 fives into it, add water and / or Floetrol, and put the pump in. Saves a little time and aggravation, and intermixes everything quickly.
Good luck.
Why spray it..if you do you are only diluting it. Roll it twice, sand after the first coat, and then only one coat of any paint and you will never get a better drywall/painting job.
That's odd. The stuff isnt that thick. You ought to be doing fine with the filter and the tip you have. I don't know squat about the pump but that's my guess. Your pump needs more muscle than it has. Other things I'd check, do you have a gun filter at the head? If you've got a 30 at the pump and an 80 at the gun, take the gun filter out and try it. I know when I spray Builders Solution I take the filters out, period.
