Just though I’d share a happy customer experience for once. I’ve used Stabila levels for a number of years, and always knew about their bomb-proof warranty.
About 2 years ago, I bought their rotating laser, the LAPR100. Recently, the laser detector stopped working and then a week or two later, the thing wouldn’t rotate. I suspect my helper killed it, but he won’t cop to it so………
Anyway, I shipped it off to Stabila to be repaired, and mentioned in my note to them that if they could turn it around pronto, I’d be VERY grateful, since I’m right in the middle of a big layout project. I also asked that they give me a call and let me know how much all this was going to cost, since it was out of warranty (the bomb-proof warranty doesn’t apply to lasers).
Yesterday, I got a call from my local rep. He said “they’re not supposed to break like that, and since you’re in such a hurry, why don’t you go back to the lumberyard where you bought it and grab a whole new unit. We’ll settle up with them later, and you’ll be back in business. No charge and hava a nice day.”
So…..Stabila rocks!!! Thanks guys!

You don't mind paying more for a product when they treat you like that.

Ditto. You buy cheap, you'll pay much more in the long run. Both in replacements, less productivity and less accurate work.
Mike. Thank you for sharing that with us! It does my heart good to see a company actually going above and beyond in order to take care of a customer.
This especially warms my heart when I look at the hundreds of dollars worth of stabila levels that I use every day.
getting ready to throw down on a mid range laser...looking at the stabila 100lapr
my concern is the 3/8+- and 100 feet ? that seems a bit inacturate..3/4 is a lot
would you do a foundation with this accuarcry?
Corralary to rule 3695) if you Have to ask twice then you better spend the extra $$ on the more accurate laser

Well, I've done one with it so far and I was happy with it. My mason(one of the most anal compulsive perfectionists I've come across) checked my footings with his optical transit and pronounced them good. Most of what I do is large additions. Maybe a larger footprint would increase any error, but so far it has worked well for me. There's just a ton of things you can do with them that would be a total pain in the #### using anything else.Whatever you buy, you'll wish, within the first 5 minutes, that you'd bought the damn thing two years ago!Mike
yea i know i posted twice :D didnt see this post come up ..its from the archives..i love optical builders levels ...the best ..but you new to buy another human to use them..
although i have become pretty handy with finding tape holding devices...just takes too longthank again
