Been working w/ my saw on a table w/ homemade supports & spring clamps… Have to move the Saw… every once and a while. Thinking of getting a stand.
Stablemate a worthy stand for $100 ?
Dewalt that much better for ~ double the price ?
Thanks

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

I have a Stablemate and like it a lot. Spend the extra $ and get the model with extensions.
I bought a Stable Mate about 6 months ago, mainly because I wanted a stand where the saw could be easily detached from the stand for transport.
I have a Trojan 2000 which I've used for years, but with the saw attached, lifting it in and out of the van by myself is a pain.
I seem to remember they (Stable Mate) have two models, and I bought the one designated "professional". I like it a lot; it is thoughtfully designed, easy to use, and has some nice accessories (like a nice shelf bracket that perches on the legs). I also bought a set of wheels so it is easy to move around the job site.
On the down side, the saw and stand take up more space in the van. When collapsed, the Trojan would stand upright, and can be lashed to the side of the van. With the Stable Mate, you have to figure out some place to store the saw, and the folded stand is too tall to ride upright in the van.

I've been using the Stablemate for a year or two now. Works well and as you found out, it is a whole lot cheaper than the DeWalt stand.
I later bought the wheels for it, but haven't attached them yet.

I have, I think, the StableMate "Plus100" (cheapie) model that I used to support a special biscuiting jig. It's remarkably stable for such a lightly-built stand, and it folds/transports easily.
I've had mine for a few years, and it works well.

DW got me a Stable mate for X-mas 2 years back.

sturdy, portable, good support, easy to use and Cheap!!!
I have no comment...
did she get tired of you whining about your having to stay out in the barn all by yurself..Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Let me get a piece of cardboard and a thick marking pencil... there...

Not bad
be but not ready for the Olympics yet
I use a WolfCraft of similar design. The lower grade StableMate doesn't have any inside material rests. That would turn me off pretty quick if I was cutting long and short stock.
The Pro model looks pretty cool...

Ive got one and should have bought two for the price. Home Depot were sellling them out for 75 bucks apeice for the full blown version.
It folds and unfolds as quick as those metal saw horses.
Pretty nice but its no Dewalt either .

what tim said. a little heavy but nice for the price. Make sure the one you get has the back stop you clamp onto the support which keeps long stock straight with the saw fence.
Hope this helps. Rich.
