Hello All! This spring I will be building a 2 car garage / workshop in a forested location in Western New York State. It can get down to -27* and a lot of snow and dampness for the better part of the year. The house I built is a timber frame with rough sawn hemlock siding which is stained a red cedar color. I want the garage to match the house and look as rustic as possible because of it’s location in a forest on a hill side. My problem is I looked at wooden doors and they are out of my price range. I’m looking for a garage door that has a wood grain effect but is stainable to match the siding. I also want it to be insullated from the cold winter weather. Does any one have any suggestions or mfgs. I could look at? Thanks Bob

Anaheim Doors out on the shakey side offers a real nice midpriced product. It's formed similar to the fiberglas stainable doors you see about. Maybe even a slight crisper texture than fibreglas. Far superior than the usual textured things found everywhere. By using a wiping stain and lot's of patience one could mimic a decent wooden door. They even offer powder coated hardware.
However, you're a little outside their area.
we build wooden carage house doors they are stainable check them out
