it will come out great, it seem like the more screwup the slab has the better the finish product. I stain all my floor in my house. Think about a two tone like a light tan with a deluded black on top, or any color you might like
Can you stain an existing exposed aggregat slab? My pool dec ki is about 30 years old and in very good shape but I would loveto change the color.
the stain will not change the color of the rock. It will only react with the cement. So your rocks be the same but the cement you can have any color
Thanks. Thats exactly what I'm looking to accomplish
anyone have a brand name of an acid stain they reccommend?
I did a stain job for an employer years ago that worked well, but, can't remember what we used.
I have a round concrete table and benches that I would like to stain. Also thinking about doing the sidewalk. Will the stain kill everything it comes in contact with - my grass?
all the stain that are acid base are basically the same. The box store do not sell acid base stain, What they call a concrete stain is a concrete paint. The stain will be in a platic bottle not a metal paint
can. The stain I used was KEMIKO http://www.kemiko.com
but you can go to http://www.acid-stain.com for mor reccomendation
Thanks Brownbagg,
I was aware of the difference between acid stain and the stuff they sell in the big boxes. The project I referred to that I did in the past - we had gallon bottles of stain that (can't remember now if we diluted with water or not) we sprayed on the concrete with a Hudson sprayer and let set then rinsed off with lots of clean water - gave an excellent patenia.
I will check the sites you mentioned.
Thanks again,
Shoe
