Hello all, I have a client who would like to tear off the old vinyl siding(Yeah) and install fiber cement. She would like to stain it .Is that possible. Thanks Pat

HARDIPLANK Makes a pre-stained now, I've never used it myself, but they put it on the house next door to ours and it looks pretty sharp from the curb. Check out their website at http://www.jameshardie.com They seem to have lots of colors and styles to choose from.

bringing it back up. That hardie looked good all stained up, looked like the real thing,
now ifn they would only make the stuff 3/4" thick I think you would finally have a rot
resistant house(ext.) although it would be awful heavy.

I really can't figure James Hardie out. They make a great product, but they have yet to create a siding with a thickened edge. This way, we could have a generous shadow line without the product weighing a ton. They obviously have the technology to do all sorts of things, why can't they solve this most fundamental shortcoming?
Or am I missing something here? Perhaps someone has an answer to this one.
