Hi I recently had my house constructed on the ocean in Newfoundland Canada. I researched and chose a pine siding that was kiln dried, pressure treated and factory stained. The siding is fine however the stainless stell nails that the company provided with a 60 yr warranty have started to bleed rust at the heads. What can I do? They have offered to restain the house however I don’t believe this is the solution. The exterior is constructed of 2×6, 5/8” plywood, 1 1/2”rigid insulation, strapping and the bevel siding making the job of replacing the siding a BIG job. Can the nails be counter sunk and the holes caulked to retard the rusting or will the nails continue to rust and the house look like it has the measels. Someone, anyone please advise.
Thank you
Sean
