I would like some feedback on a method I am thinking of for replacing my basement stairs. I am in the process of finishing my basement and am thinking of replacing the stair treads with 3/4 plywood, then using some one by ash boards I have access to on top. I thought I could glue a nose on the ash boards to cover the plywood edge then screw through the plywood from the bottom so there wouldn’t be any nails or screws showing, plus if I had to replace one it wouldn’t be a big deal. I could also use some input on what would be the best finish for these.
