Whats up again. Still siding the house. This time my question regards stapling tar paper to Dens Glass gold exterior fire sheathing. I know they say not to use staples because obviously the gypsum panel won’t hold it for long and they want you to nail it on. However in my case I’m nailing on 3/8″ fanfold as I cover the wall with tar paper. Do you guys think its ok in this situation to staple the tar paper to the board and then nail the foam up immediately locking the tar paper in place? I figured it’d be ok but figuired I’d get some other opinions incase I’m not thinking of something. Thanks

Bump.
I think the staples are ok, but I would be concerned that a hammer tacker could break the dens shield.
That should work just fine. Typically the building paper will go on at the same time as the siding, so staples should work long enough to get the siding installed, even without the foam.

Thanks guys. I thought the same thing about the hammer tacker but when I tried it, it was fine. Thanks again.
