Too far for this dumb plumber,lol. Check out the contractors at heatinghelp. If you could get Frank, you would have a VERY hard time getting someone better.
Insulating all the pipes will help but there could be other problems. I had a client who had the asbestos striped off his pipes and they started banging like crazy. I reinsulated them and the banging stopped. Rapid thermal expansion was the culprit.
