A friend who lives in NYC wants me to put a deck on top of a flat roof (covered with rolled roofing). He thought cedar would be best, but I seem to think I have seen some mention of systems based on metal bracing with metal planking. Given the climate in NYC and assuming poor drainage I thought a metal based system would have a longer life. Anyone know of a manufacturer of this type of material and your thoughts on the concept. Am talking about a 20′ x 30′ area. Any suggestions greatly appreciated
