Hello
I live in a 1940’s plaster house, the problem I’m running into is, the house has steel lath. Dose anyone know how to find I can find the wood studs with in the walls?
I’ve found a few studs,by using a small drill and drilling LOTS of small holes through the plaster, but there is also another problem, the studs are not 16″ centers. I can not use any electronic stud finder (that I know of) to find the wood studs because the steel interferes with the sencer.
dose anyone know a easy to find the studs within my my old house?
One more thing, I’m almost deft, so just taping on the walls and trying to hear the tone change, wont work for me.
Thanks in advance.

Look at the baseboard nails, back then guys actually cared enough to nail to solid wood.
Or, pull a hunk of baseboard and experiment there, and plumb up.
