Step flashing fancy venting cupola

A project I was working on today.
The sides of this cupola/vent were leaking heavily with all the rain we’ve gotten lately. The old zinc flashings were worn thru letting copious amounts into the building.
I removed some slates, used Grace as underlayment-then relaid the slate using 16 oz. copper as step flashings.
Attaching one picture-then pasting a Shutterfly link for the rest.

Man Walter ! That looks fantastic. High up too.
Did I see bird spikes up on the ridge?
Better you than I...LOL
We have been on a huge gutter job for a spell, and as soon as the rain stops, we have it licked.
Great work. Did ya re-cut any slate or keep track of the curced coursing?

Duane,
Yes those bird spikes are a pain.
Some slates were already missing and some invariably break during removal-so I had to cut some for the relaying process.
I saw your Funky gutter thread-man those are lovely looking water troughs.
Hope your traction action has smoothed things out a bit. WAlter

Hey Walter - I know how, but some pics of cutting the radius on those slates would be cool to see. I've only done it once (made some fish scales) and it was before the digital age.http://logancustomcopper.com

Grant,
I've got a Mansard just up the street that has fish scale slates that will need some attention soon. I'll take some shots of prepping those to post.
