I have a vinyl replacement double hung window that has just started sticking when I try to close the bottom sash. It was fine until a couple of weeks ago and it now seems like it is not sliding easily in the tracks. It is not racked and it has been there about 15 years and the house has not settled recently – it was built in the 1950s. Is there any lube I can use on white vinyl? I would prefer something dry and something that lasts a while. Thanks.

Avoid anything with a petroleum base, such as regular oil or WD40, and some furniture wax products. Spray silicone or a teflon-bearing spray such as Tri-Flow will work, or there are silicone and teflon-bearing greases (sometimes in crayon form) that would work.
I tend to prefer the teflon-bearing products as they are very "dry", safe for plastics, and seem to be long-lasting.
But double-check for something that's come loose or cracked/bent, causing the problem.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.
I should have thought of some of these since if I can use them on the plastic on my car why not use them on my plastic window.
I think I still have an old can of Simoniz paste wax. Remember the good old days of "Simonizing" your car. Thank God for clear coat and liquid wax.
I have used the silicone lube sticks available at my local Ace store. I'd be more specific but I can't find it right now
