I am trying to salvage a set of Andersen sliding french doors damaged in a hurricane. The rollers work fine and the doors are intact but I have one little problem. Even with the rollers set all the way down the doors catch on the top jamb. Does anyone know if the tops of these doors can be trimmed. The top employs a stop so it sure looks like they can but I just want to make sure before I break out the saw.
Thanks,
Allen

You sure the top or bottom isn't bowed in?
happy?
The top may be slightly bowed but if so it is slight. I have about half an inch of stop and currently less than nothing clearance on the doors.
The AndersEn sliders we have have a removable block at the end of the upper track, to prevent the door from being lifted out of the track while locked. Have you checked for removable blocks, etc?
If ignorance is bliss why aren't more people
happy?
Cutting them off would be my last resort. Either the floor is bowed up or the head is bowed down. I'd suggest taking off interior trim, cut back sheet rock if it's tight to the frame and remove any shims at the top (There shouldn't be any). Pull the head up with the screws.
If you must shorten the door I'd use an electric planer the exterior of a frenchwood is a phenolic material that chips out in big chunks.
Also.... since you opening is now too small to allow the operating panel to slide, I'd suspect you stationary panel is carrying some weight. Not a good situation for a large glass panel.
I would make certain that my sill is perfectly level first. Than take a measurements starting at the sill , to a set point on the head ( I measure to the removable stop ) Work your way across the door . If your measurements are consistent with both corners all the way across, you may have to trim the panels. But, two other things to look into: Are the wheels sticking? You may have turned the adjustment screw as far as it goes, but wheels sticking (down in this case ) is not entirely uncommon. Also , If you used insulating (expanding ) foam, you could have twisted or bowed the head slightly . Dig out the foam with a screw driver , re-measure and check the slide.
GO ANGELS!!!
