We have a 150yr old barn (17′ by 22′) in which I’d like to use the second floor for a guest bedroom (summer). The floor is supported by 3 (across the 17′ span) hewn 6X6 beams and is a trampoline. In addition, 50yrs ago the original tenons were cut and the floor raised. It was re-attached poorly to the vertical beams and now the walls lean out noticeably. Two questions- Can the walls be pulled back in? And, what flooring system would be appropriate for the 17’span. (LVL, reg. dimension lumber, old barn beams etc.)? I am trying to avoid posts in the first floor. Thanks.
