stone masonry–cement/sand mixing ratio
I have a section of wall I’m going to apply a natural stone wainscoat to. The stones are approx. 6″ deep and varying widths. What is the best ratio of plastic cement to sand. I also live in an area that gets substantial snow and freezing?
Thanks.

With straight Portland cement, 1 of cement to 3 of sand, by volume. I suppose plastic cement would be the same ratio.

JPlum - the stone masons I know mix in a little stone dust (verry small gravel) to give the mortar some body to hold the weight of the stones before the mortar sets.
