I just finished helping my brother install stone veneer on his front steps. It was a first for both of us. It was very time-consuming to say the least and while we expected this, we felt the if the stone was a better quality the job would not have been so hard.
My question is, does anyone who does this all the time have any recommendations of manufacturers. There are many(we used the only one offered at our local Lowe’s-Quality Stone Veneer) and I have a job coming up soon that calls for more stone veneer.
Thanks

Tell me ya didn't use it on the treads ! I have used quite a few differant manufacturers products and in my openion it all goes up about the same I have a 1100sq.ft. job I will be starting in about 3 weeks for the Boy Scouts of America since this going to be a prodject that their popcorn sales are funding I got them a deal from a local manufactor of arct. stone lowes wasn,t even close to what this guys price for the stone was , and I would just as soon install his stufff than the high price stone anyday.
What was the main problem with the stuff anyway?
There are some of us that think fake stone is a elaborate scheme designed to:
Make it easier for inexperienced people to place it (many times incorrectly &/or poorly),
Make a faster buck for the retailer/installer/manufacturer,
Lower people's expectations of what a real stone job is supposed to look like.
But it's your house and I can't see it from herre!
