You talking about the 1x12 melemine wannabe?
I've seen them for T&G panels for attics, etc to walk around on. I got about a dozen in my attic, and they have stood up well for 5 years here in Fl. I don't know what else they are for; at the time that's what they were sold for.
I use it for quick real cheep closet systems. The stuff is real cheep. needs a lot of support, does not nail very well
stinks something awefull when you work with it
caulking is not a piece of trim
Chipper,
The strawboard panel's I know of were used on the hosing tracts
in northern U.K. in the late 70's,early 80's.
4x8 sheets of compressed straw wrapped in sheetrock paper,
2.5 inches thick,it was called Stramit.
Nail down a sole plate 3x2.5,nailers between the trusses where
the wall goes, cut stramit & stand in place.L clips nailed, next piece
goes up.
