I am remodeling an old house which has lath and plaster on the inside and 1×5 fir siding on the outside. I am taking off the plaster on the inside and I wonder do I want to add 3/4 inch plywood to the inside exterior walls to add structural strength since the outside doesn’t have any or is that overkill. We live in earthquake country and I wonder about making this old house stronger than it is. I am lifting the house to pour a real foundation and plan to follow any of the latest codes for attaching the house but the lack of plywood on exterior walls concerns me. thanks
