Looking for a good place to buy a long steel I beam for a rehab and need a recommendation on a supplier in the Chicago area that can help spec it as well. Preferably city or south.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks, Rob.

I get my steel lintels and limestone sills from them. Good people to deal with and very knowledgeable.

Thanks for the response but I am looking for a lot more then a lintel on this. I need a pretty long I beam that will hold a significant amount of weight. I did go to the site and they look like a great brick work place but I could not find anything for structural steel I beams to support floor joists. I will bookmark them for some thing I am looking to do with a fireplace chimney. A very useful source.
Try Northern Illinois Steel Supply in Channahon

You could also try M&I Steel in Channahon or Corsetti Structural Steel in Joliet but a single beam is probably a too small of a job for them.

Be sure to check several places for prices. Last year, summer, I did alot of steel work and at the end of the job I came across an outfit that was 30% less expensive that amounted to alot of $$$$., lost.
