Greetings! I am trying to remove adhesive that was applied behind the backsplash of a sink and glued to the bathroom tile. A vanity beneath the sink (which is staying, the sink needs replacement) is making the space especially tricky. The adhesive is proving IMPOSSIBLE to penetrate and I don’t want to break the tile behind, if at all possible. Anyone have a good product or idea? Have already tried acetone and a couple of the common adhesive removers on the market.

Its nasty stuff but when all else fails on an adhesive I use Stripeze. I had a similar problem on a tile floor and it removed it without damage to the tile. Just make sure you have good ventilation, wear a respirator, gloves etc. This stuff is a last resort but I havn't seen it fail against just about any hard to remove adhesive.
I don't want to lead you into problems here, but I have seen certain caulks that responded to careful use of a heat gun/ and scraper. Of course the heat gun needs to be handled in such a way to not get too much anywhere it could hurt or discolor.
Kerosene?
Just a thought...
Not knowing what sort of adhesive is there doesn't help. "Goop" or caulk softener may be your ticket.

Have had good luck with 3m General Adhesive Remover. Body shop supply is the place to look.
