Would appreciate some astute comments from experienced masonary people here on “breaktime”.
The problem: My house is sided with a cement fiber
board (Hardipanel). The panel joints look really
bad due to a foamboard underlayment that crushed
during installation. (Some of the guys hammered a
little too zealously).
The question: Can the cement board be used as a
backer board for a stucco overcoat? If so, is mesh
necessary for good adhesion and crack prevention?
And finally, What’s the best stucco mix for my climate (mid-south).
Thanks to those who respond and to Fine Homebuilding for providing this forum.
