I’m preparing to stucco my house and have found that here in Vermont this method is rare (mostly clapboard) so i’m having difficulty getting started. I have some questions; (1) what would be the best fastener to use, screw or nail to attatch the metal lath
I will be going through a half inch piece of celotex then into rough siding. I would like to use a nail gun if possible.
thanks,
mike

Anyone know a good stucco site for a recommendation?
Portland Cement Association "Plaster (Stucco) Manual".
If you send me a snail addy, I'll drop my copy in the mail. Not anything I'll ever use. Copper got my vote. Also have a bunch of expanded lathe accessories, but you'd have to pick them up.PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!
Thanks, I was trying to get a recommendation for Mike, the original poster.
Always wanted to try stucco tho' since the old above ground foundation on my place is covered in stained PT ply.

Offer stands for Mike, or anybody else interested.

Edit: It's spoken for. I just checked the Portland Cement Association site. The new version is 72 pages, vs my 50. Goes for $25. They have a lot of inexpensive manuals on most anything using portland cement.

The code in our area, Nevada, says to use corrosion-resistant nails that are 1 1/2" long, 11 gage with a 7/16" head, or 7/8" long, 16 gage staples. These shall be placed no more than 6" apart.
Since your are using the extra 1/2" material, I would assume the these fastners need to be 1/2" longer.
I have never did stucco, but it is pretty much all that is being installed on new construction in my area.
