Does anyone recommend a certain brand of stud finder for plaster and latte walls?
I have an older home I am remolding and have to find the studs in this old girl?
Any recommendations?
thanks

Take a guess as to layout if the house maybe was laid out on 16's.
Hunt the basebd for any signs of putty'd up nail holes.
In balloon framing, look to the side of joists and hunt there.
On occasion, if there was electric at the time it was framed, the box might be on the edge of the stud.
Knuckle rap on the wall and make note of change in sound.
These methods are about as reliable as most of the stud sensors on the market. Everytime I hear of one that works, I find it no where near fool proof.
