Subfloor for wooden flooring

Hope I in the right place, I am doing a reno and plan on laying down some recycled fir flooring, right now my joists are 2×6 with 1″ shiplap subflooring. Can I lay my new (used) flooring directly over this or should I strip the old sub floor and replace with t&g ply. (Head room is limited)
