Hello all,
I am planning a bath remodel that will require replacing some subflooring. The house is about 60 years old and has 1×6 diagonal subflooring on 2×8 joists. Joist spacing is very irregular but seems to be an attempt at 16″. How do you guys deal with the floor repair at the intersection of the new flooring and the existing walls. In the past I have cut the subfloor as close the the wall as possible with a sawzall and added blocking to pick up the new deck edge. This can be time consuming as the blocking is never a consistant size. Does anyone have a easier/faster/cheaper/better way of doing this?
Thanks
Matt

you could cut your blocks a little shy apply PL-400 and screw them through the top of the existing floor. When using this method i like to use 2x4 flat thereby giving you plenty of bite. You don't have a structural issue, you just don't want your floor to flex.
