Suck the chrome off a bumper hitch
Suffering a few growing pains and found myself in need of another shop vac. Immediately.
Stopped by Home Depot, scoped them out, identified one that might work and asked if I could hear it run. Sounded good. Bought it and used it yesterday afternoon to clean up after tearing down 50 year old ceiling with black insulation above it.
Winner! Winner!
Lots of things that I liked about the design of this particular vac, but I’m here to tell you, this thing SUCKS! If you’re in the market for a compact, portable, non screaming shop vac that all the accessories store within a boxlike shape (not inside the collection cannister) that will suck the chrome off your bumper hitch and only costs 99 bones, check out the Ridgid 4550.
And that’s not the first time, or even the 50th time, Home Depot has saved my butt.
Ever wonder why “holistic” doesn’t start with “w”?

Is that the Ridgid your talking about? I've had one for awhile and love the heck out of it. I really love the way everything folds back up inside it.

I dozed off for a few minutes. When I woke up we had like a 15 point lead. If it wasn't getting ready to turn into a brawl I'd go back to sleep.

A perfect example of a Breaktime thread. Two regulars turn it into a rapid-fire, completely off-topic chat. Out of more than 25 posts, 3 are on-topic.
Games over. We can get back on topic now. Err what was the topic?

Actually, the off topic posts were concerned with sucking, as both our teams are in a contest to see who can suck the most. Not much about chrome, though.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
I agree. That's a great portable shop vac. I rarely need it, but I keep it in my van all the time.
In case anyone is considering buying one, it does have one shortcoming. It doesn't come with an extension hose, just the flexible one (which works quite well). That means that for vacuuming floors, you need to get down on your hands and knees. That's fine for small areas, but I wouldn't want to do a whole room that way.
I love the rigid, it is nearly silent!! it really does suck... up debris
