A friend painted the living room with a designer suede paint. Very nice. A soft suede surface. No lumps or grainy texture. I’ve used sand paint additives before, but this was not nearly so lumpy. Is there something I can buy and add to the paint to get that suede texture? I like the designer paint, but its about triple the price of a good regular latex paint.

I always thought it was a specific brand of paint, but maybe it is just a technique. Oh, I've seen professional jobs that feel/look great, and jobs from folks who botched it. It looks really bad unless it's done right.
