Working on an old bungalow. Stripped all the siding down to wood but the eaves have a few roofing nails popping through the roof deck so can’t really scrape them. I was thinking of just covering with 1x stock or even ext ply with kerfs cut into it to simulate strips of wood. I was also thinking of using beadboard panelling, but that’s interior stuff so I’m not sure how long it would last outside, although it is under cover. Anyhow, any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I'm not sure what you are asking for here but if it is the ol' roofing nails poking through the deck underside issue, you can grind the protruding nail shank off with a grinder. I would nip off the excess first with the nail nippers if the shank is really long.
Thanks,
The paint is so old it's like glass and I never relished the thought of sanding it down never mind grinding the protunding nails down. I guess I'm asking what would be the best "cover up" to make it look neat and finished.
