I will be pouring a thin (1.5″ – 2″)concrete slab over PEX tubing. Would it be advisable to put down plastic or 15# felt before the tubing & concrete to prevent cracking?
I know that gypcrete installers like their product to bond with the subfloor, however, is that the case with concrete? I’m concerned that the differing expansion rates of wood vs concrete could result in cracking (although I will have fibermesh added to the mix).
What is the common practice for concrete slabs over wood subfloors?
