Makita 2703 is one of the lightest at 42#.
What doodabug says. Got the Mak last year, with the Rousseau stand. For me, it came down to the Mak or the Bosch. The Mak won over for weight, cut height and power. I'd still like to pick up the Bosch, however, for a dedicated shop saw - it's that good.have fun with your new Christmas giftCarl

Take a peak at the ez guide. eurekazone.com In terms of small and light its hard to beat (and cheaper than a table saw).

The Bosch 4000-09 is state of the art, amazon has for $519 with free shipping.
got my Dad a small/cheap Delta a coupla years ago ...
it's still running just fine.
came with a cheap metal stand that's still standing too. At the time ... I believe it was the cheapest table saw Delta sold .... I'd check amazon/tool crib reconditioned.
ripping 3/4 stock ... pertty much anything U buy and put a good blade on will give fantastic results. Did I mention I also got him a blade that cost just about the same as the freaking saw! He goes as far as ripping 2x materials from time to time.
he's in his 70's and wanted something he could load into the trunk of the car by himself and carry up the apartment stairs he's always working in.
according to our long standing joke ... as he's in his 70's ... I always tell him I'm not going to buy anything too cheap ... as it'll be mine sooner or later!
