Hello all,
My brother’s house has a few brown to black scuffs on the aluminum siding from shingles that didn’t make it to the dumpster. What are some of the best ways to remove the stuff? If it had to be painted what would be the best paint for it?
Thanks in advance Turtle boy.

paint thinner
TAR-X is a product made for careless roofers to carry around with them. It will disolve the tar without deglossing the siding and it is water rinseable. It is sold in hardware stores and auto parts stores. I bet Mike Gabriel has heard of it too.
If you can't find it, I would use WD-40 followed by hot soapy water
Excellence is its own reward!
Also, if you're old enough to remember old No. 7 Bug and Tar Remover, they still make it. It's for automobiles. But paint thinner is cheaper, so try it first.
Try some mechanics hand cleaner. Might work, might not, but you can use it to clean whatever else you try from your hands.
sorry guy's,but there are several citrus based cleaners that work much better than any of the above mentioned cleaners.
Dewitts makes one---Even Tamko has one.
when you are done everything smells like orange juice.
