Get a pneumatic palm nailer...
They sell for $19 at http://www.grizzly.com...
This way you're not lugging around another nail gun and it won't cost you a couple of hundred bucks..
already own one. still not as fast as the gun
I have used the Paslode Teco nailer quite a bit and it rocks. Very professional tool.
I also have the Paslode Positive Placement Strip Nailers and they're great guns. Well worth the money. I have the palm nailer also but it's nothing compared to the gun.

As fas as the "bostich version ", if you mean the framing gun with the metal connector attachment, for that one, you will have trouble finding the nails. They are somewhat available, but Bostick can't seem to step up to the plate to make them readily available, and I contacted their customer service and got nothing but lip service. The nails are available mostly through special order, and they are $$$. One time I went to order them, they were back ordered, and I was told something about a "steel shortage". I saw a few boxes on the shelf in one of my building supplies ONE time. To my knowledge no one makes/sells generics, and there are no hot dipped nails period.
I have to disagree about the metal connecting nails not being available. Bostitch has plenty in stock, now in a smaller size box of 1000. Most of the time its the Distributors who wont't step up to the plate and stock them in theirs stores. What do you mean by special order? Ask your distributor if he can get them, the should be able if they are a Bostitch dealer. Also are you dealing with a Bostitch distributor? , if not, they may have trouble getting them from a two step distribution. Good luck
I've only checked at local building supplies, home centers, hardware stores, and the contractor supply store that supplies probably more than 1/2 the nails to contractors in the county which includes a moderate sized metropolitan area with a fairly hot new home market. As far as bostick dealers, I don't know of any around here - although some/most of the above do sell a subset of the Bostick guns - is that what you mean? Truthfully though, I haven't checked thoroughly in about 4 months.
At some point you tend to feel like your time is being wasted...
If you find them so easy to get, why not send me a complimentary sample box of 1000 ;-) Also, what about the Hot Dipped Galvanized? - Or is this gun not to be used on decks?
