I’m interested in a style of a Premcor door (by Masonite) that is only available with a woodgrain texture. I hate the texture, and would like to smooth it out. Has anyone tried this, maybe by filling the grain with some material?

Despite the fact that I think it's nuts, I think it's possible too. It's really only nuts in that it will take you a deal of time to make it pan out. Take Crawfords spackle or whatever your favorite brand is (I like Crawfords - it sticks to everything, doesn't shrink much, and sands baby smooth) and fill all those "grain" lines with a wide plastic putty knife. For the countour on the raised panels you can use a rag, wad it up with a smooth side, glob the stuff on, and wipe it on the door. Let it dry a couple of hours, and have fun sanding. Might have to do it twice, then reprime when you're done, and paint away.

Why not just buy a smooth door in the first place?

Good question, but as I said in my original post, the style of door I am wanting is only available with a textured finish. Actually, what I should have said is that the style my wife wants is only available that way.
