I want to thank EVERYONE for their prayers, thoughts, and support during this time of grief.
My family also thanks you, and are truly amazed that such a large group of people that do not even know them are praying for them, thinking about them, or supporting them with kindness at such a time. You are truly an amazing group of people, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We had a memorial service for him today, and it was beautiful. We decided that instead of a normal funeral, we would like to have a Celebration of Life for him. About 200 people came to the funeral home last night, and the Celebration service this morning. It was amazing to see all of those that he touched, and listen to them tell of their friendships. It was an uplifting experience, and I will always remember it.
His graveside service was short, sweet, and attended by the same group. I got his flag that was draped over the coffin. He was a Korean war vet, and very proud of his service. I will cherish this flag as long as I live.
It has been a very emotional time, and extremely draining on the mind and body. We are strong (my mom has been stronger than anyone thought possible), and we will make it thanks to the support of his friends, our family, and you guys and gals here. Words cannot express my heartfelt thanks.
