Well its that time again. I need a new pouch. Bought the last one like 10 years ago from a loacl supplier. I always liked it but I can’t find them anymore. I looked on Occidental leathers website nice pouches but there just not for me. I’d like the look of them but the pouches just aren’t in the right spot. Any ideas?

I'll be following this thread with interest, since that time is drawing near for me too. Like you, I think the oxy stuff looks good and is well made, but he pouch location just isn't right.
I'm a lefty, and need a minimum of 3 nail (not tool) pouches on my right side. I used a Nicholas-McGuire model 424-L for years but evidently there's a leather shortage 'cause the one I looked at recently I could barely get my hand into.
Used to be a guy that advertised in the back of FH made 'em all custom from Cordura. At 250.00+ they were a bit too pricey for me at the time, but I'd reconsider if they were still available.
(edit) The pricey bags were Diamondback, evidently out of business. Searched the old threads and these look very good. http://www.mcroseleathers.com/catalog/index.php

If you wear an apron type, I would look at some of the better ones at Lowes or Home Depot. Some of the brands they carry make some nice looking decent sized aprons and bags.
Also Lee Valley tools have some nice bags and an apron. Sorry I don't have the web address.
I have a pair of occy's, leather. I sort of wish I had bought the synthetic pair of framers. I would probably like an apron just as well as the belt system but I can't get the apron I wan't any more. A Mcguire Nicholas medallion series apron. I t is the model Norm wears. Thats not the reason I want it, if you have ever noticed the pockets are huge. I can't find an apron with pockets that big. So I wen't with the Occy's.
Jusrt reread the posts, The original maker of diamondbacks passed away I think, but the bags are still available at http://www.toolbelts.com complete with the pricey tags.

I've had my Occy framer lites for over 10 yrs. They have held up well for me
Now after 25yrs of wearing a tool belt I think I'm gonna have to breakdown and get some suspenders. My hips have been hurtin here lately. I figured it was because I hadn't framed in a while, but now I think it has something to do with my age. :-)
I bought a set of leather Oxy's in 1984, they have been to the shop where my wife gets her horsey stuff fixed twice, but i wouldn't trade 'em for anything I have seen on the shelf since.
All right,Here are three companies I have found recently that make bags. I've been waiting for the inevitable best bags threasd to come up again to ask if anyone has used any of these:http://www.protoolbelts.com/home.phphttp://www.ergodyne.com/productdetail.aspx?id=437http://www.journeymanline.com/index.php?main_page=indexPersonally, I like the look of the new occi "finisher's". I need fewer nail puches and more organized room for tools.-KitTechnique is proof of your seriousness. - Wallace Stevens
kit....nice find! Nice prices for good looking rigs there that look pretty strong, comfortable and well organized all under a bill...WOW.

Klein leather pouches last a long time - I got 10+ years out of a couple of them. I tried the brown nylon fabric ones from Bucket Boss - both had holes in less than six months. I was disappointed with the BB ones. I like how they clip over the belt instead of having to thread the belt through. Oh, well, can't have everything.
