John, a landscape architect I work for, once asked me what would be the best adhesive to use to glue down the coping on a limestone retaining wall we were building.
I said “Bulldog Grip – PL Premium”.
“Nah” says he, “We used that before on another site and the coping kept lifting off.”
“It’s always worked well for me, (gotta follow the directions…)” I replied.
Then Johnny Goldcard the Landscape Architect got wind of this amazing new bonding product called Techni-Seal, but he could only buy it from a supplier located about 120 kms away. So he hops into his truck, on a mission for the ultimate sealant. 3 hours later he returns with a case of this Amazing Techni-Seal, which incidentally cost twice as much as PL Premium.
Upon using it I noticed that it looked remarkably like PL Premium. Must use a similar recipe, I mused to myself.
Well, that night it rained. The cardboard box containing this great harvest of adhesive was accidentally left outside, and was subjected to a fair degree of moisture.
The next day I went to grab a tube of the ol’ Techni-Seal and noticed that the label surrounding the tube was coming loose due to the moisture. I picked at it, and it came clean off.
But wait! There were more graphics underneath! Through the glue they used to attach the label, I could see a familiar picture of a bulldog. I looked closer. Clearly this was not just any bulldog; it was THE Bulldog.
Below it read – PL Premium.
I got to use my favorite construction adhesive after all (at the architects expense, no less)
You can only imagine Johnny’s reaction when I told him…

Great story. It has always worked well for me, and is my favorite also. Low odor, very nice indoors.
