Ok, after my sniveling rant about he b—– that jerked me around.
Today we finished a kitchen remodel. Nice mid 30’s couple with a tight budget. They shared their goals and budget right away as I was recomended to them. We were able to come up with a mid level kitchen that fit the bill. Were able to squeeze in all of their most wanted goals and few perks and stayed within budget.
Stopped over tonight and got pictures and the final check. The said repeatedly how thrilled they were with the kitchen and how thrilled they were that I was their contractor as we kept their place nice, stayed on time and on budget and they never felt uncomforable with us in the house. Gave me a gift certificate for a decent restraunt and a tin of home made fudge.
I am now officially over the other deal. I am going to go sit on my personal cloud nine. Who says it is all about the money? DanT

It's not all about the money. It's about making nice space for people so they can enjoy it... and it's about sharing some of that fudge with your numerous online business advisors.
Congratulations! Hope the glad tidings carry well into the new year.
Yeah, man, it's really nice to opem one of these threads and read about a job well done and a happy customer. Congratulations, Dan.
But I'm thinking maybe you don't like fudge that much...and if we were really your buddies we'd offer to help you get rid of it...do you have my street address, or will that be coming to my PO Box?
I think I owe you my share of the fudge for the drawing you faxed me. I still need to call you for a couple of details.
You don't owe me anything, David, glad to help. Can't tell you how many people here have sent me drawings, or sample contracts, or good advice. Call anytime.
OK, well, he's not giving up the fudge anyway, even though I'm going to Michigan in a few days and could pick up our cut.

Have you seen Dan? I'm thinking he likes fudge a little "too" much.....lol.

Nicely done Dan. Guys like you help to change the negative image of contractors that a few bad apples have given us. Good on ya Dan. Merry Christmas. After a rotton week, it's nice to hear a success story.
That's wonderful.
And that's the way it was.

Thank you all for the kind words. The fudge is off limits. Usually split it with the guys but this is pretty good fudge and since they won't be back to work till Tuesday...........DanT
Amen. Tis the season. We've all had our own grumpy gus' I'm sure. I got final payment on a "job well done" tonight as well and you're right. Kind of makes the day. In this case, makes at least the whole weekend. Cheers.

Good deal Dan. That's the way every job should end. I missed the other thread, but I don't think I care to catch up on it now since we're on a positive note.
