Hi all
Need some help (advice) with a thermostat.
Simple problem, my wife had me install a electronic set-back thermostat in the house.
I looked at all the hardware stores and Home Depot (I know, I hate them too) for a good one.
Trouble is, none (I tried 3) of them seem to be easy to program or reliable.
All seem to be designed by devious chinese torture experts.
Can anyone suggest a brand, model, etc. that is easy to use (and a mail order supply, as I’m in nowhere Vermont).
I might add that I could use a plain old style, but my wife is on my case here.

I like the Honeywell with adaptive controls (What do they call it Smart Recovery?)
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Ditto on Honeywell.

I have a White-Rogers and it's fairly good. You DO have to learn how to program it.
Why not look for "Controls" in your yellow pages, or do a search in Google for "Programmable Thermostats"?

I think you will find that for a programmable thermo to do it all...different temps through the day and night and on the weekend, coupled with the controls for the fan, coupled with the a/c system, ALL directions start to become overwhelming.
I have a white rodgers and left in the manual mode for some time until I was able to actually take the time to program it. Now, I am thankful I took the time to figure it out.
Honeywell will work well, but more money. White-Rodgers are ok, but might not have all the features you want, particularly if you want different settings each day of the week for some reason.
I had bad luck with several Hunters.
